Author Guidelines

Requirements for the design of scientific publications are drawn up in accordance with Chapter 5 of the Instructions for the preparation of a dissertation, abstract and publications on the topic of the dissertation, approved by the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Committee of the Republic of Belarus dated December 24, 1997 No. 178 (as amended by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus dated February 22. 2006 No. 2).

Original manuscripts are accepted, not previously published in other printed editions, signed by all authors, with a review and a cover letter. The electronic version of the article is sent to e-mail: ahova_raslin@tut.by

The structure of the content of a scientific article:

Title:

– UDC index,

– the title of the article in Russian and English,

– surname, name, patronymic of the authors in Russian and English,

– academic degree, name of the organization.

Abstract up to 10 lines in Russian and English.

Introduction, main part (sections - methodology and objects of research, research results and their discussion), conclusions.

List of cited sources.

Text formatting:

– The volume of a scientific article– from 14,000 to 16,000 characters (8-9 pages), including spaces, punctuation marks, numbers, etc. A4 format, Times New Roman font, size 14 pt. after 1.5 intervals.

Headings always start on a new line without a dot at the end, separated from the text at the top and bottom by one interval, the font is straight bold.

- Illustrations, tables, formulas are located after the paragraph in which they are mentioned for the first time and are numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals.

Latin names of harmful organisms (fungi, bacteria, viruses, pests, weeds, etc.) are typed in italics. The relevance and correctness of their spelling is verified using nomenclature databases.

The names of the trade names of agrochemicals, their formulations (Quickstep, MKE; Taboo super, SK; Horus, VDG, etc.) and active substances must comply with the “State Register of Plant Protection Products and Fertilizers Allowed for Use on the Territory of the Republic of Belarus” and (or ) addition to it.

– Use of abbreviations:

  1. initials are beaten off from each other and from the surname with an inseparable space - P. V. Ushkevich; - i.e., etc., etc. - always written with a space after the dot;
  2. a space is placed between the number (No.) and the number (5) - No. 5, between the number (2) and the percent sign (%) - 2%;
  3. a dash without spaces is placed between the numbers - 5-7;
  4. plus, minus and plus-minus do not beat off the number following it - +20 °C, -23, ±0.1;
  5. References in the text to the corresponding source from the list of references are made in square brackets, for example: [1, 5, 10];
  6. The list of cited sources is drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus. It is formed in the order of appearance of references in the text, or in alphabetical order of the names of the first authors or titles, design - in accordance with interstate standards GOST 7.80-2000; GOST 7.1-2003; GOST 7.82-2001; GOST 7.12-93; GOST 7.11-2004 and STB 7.12-2001.

Design of tables, formulas, figures:

- Tables are typed in Word in portrait orientation, font size 12 pt., single spacing, number - no more than 4.

  1. The name begins with the word "Table" or "Figure", a number is given, then a dash on the same line is given the name in plain bold type, for example:

Table 1 - The effect of foliar top dressing with microelements on the yield of sugar beet (average, 2019–2020).

  1. Not included in the table of the column "Number in order". The serial numbers of the indicators included in the table are indicated before their name.
  2. Headings of columns and lines are written with a capital letter in the singular, subheadings of a graph - with a lowercase letter, if they make up one sentence with a heading, the font is straight bold.
  3. Explanations to the content of the illustration, tables are given in the form of notes and are given under them.

– Formulas are typed in the formula editor Microsoft Equition.

– Figures (diagrams, graphs, schemes) are drawn up in color; quantity - no more than 5.

  1. Signatures for figures and diagrams are written separately, font size 12 pt.
  2. All graphic material is additionally sent in the program in which it was made (for example, in Excel), so that editing is possible.

– Photos are sent separately in tif, jpg format.

The editors reserve the right to select, additional review and edit articles.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.
